Power Plant Developer Going Out of Business

The developers of the embattled Las Brisas Energy Center have announced their plan to liquidate the company and halt their efforts to build the proposed new power plant in Corpus Christi, Texas. If built, the power plant would burn petroleum coke, a refinery byproduct that contains high levels of toxic metals, and would emit an estimated 12 to 15 million tons of carbon dioxide into the air each year.
