49 Coal Plants Acknowledge Groundwater Contamination at 116 Disposal Sites

49 coal plants acknowledged monitoring data showing arsenic, cadmium, lead, or other toxins had exceeded federal health or state groundwater standards at one or more of their ash ponds or landfills.  The data was obtained from EPA through a Freedom of Information Act request.
