EIP REPORT: U.S. POWER PLANT GLOBAL WARMING EMISSIONS RISING IN 2013 AFTER YEARS OF DECLINE
May 23, 2013
CO2 power plant emissions rose more than 7% in the first quarter of this year, compared to the first three months of 2012, according to the latest estimates from the USEPA. The Department of Energy predicts coal based generation will increase nearly 9% in 2013, due to higher gas prices, but won’t return to the peak levels of 5 to 10 years ago.
