EIP and Earthjustice Ask Congress to Encourage EPA to Limit Toxic Discharges to Rivers from Ash Ponds
Mar 31, 2009

TVA's power plants in Tennessee and Alabama discharge toxic metals  from coal ash and scrubber sludge ponds in concentrations that are well above water quality standards for such pollutants, according to permit applications filed by the utility.  EIP and Earthjustice have asked Congressman Oberstar and the House Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure to encourage EPA to act now to limit these toxic discharges.
