Report: Alleged Clean Air Act Violations
H. W. Pirkey, Knox Lee and Welsh Power Plants - Testimony and supporting documents provided by Bill Wilson, former Air Quality Engineer for American Electric Power.
Jul 13, 2004

On July 13, 2004, the Environmental Integrity Project asked the Justice Department to investigate a whistleblower's charges that American Electric Power had deliberately violated the Clean Air Act at three of its Texas plants (Welsh, Pirkey, and Knox-Lee). Public Citizen and Lone Star Sierra have filed notice of intent to sue American Electric Power for the most significant violations, based on statements by Mr. Bill Wilson, a former air quality engineer for AEP, and on publicly available documents. The attached materials include EIP's letter to the Justice Department, the notice of intent to sue, and some of the documents that provide evidence of AEP's violations.
